 Online traders face tax clampdown

Ruth Emery warns eBay sellers and those letting their properties through sites such as Airbnb to get their tax affairs in order in the Sunday Times. The Chancellor said in last week’s spring statement that he would consult “on how online platforms can help their users to pay the right amount of tax” as the Government eye revenue from the digital gig economy. HMRC said it would be looking at how best to support those earning money through a platform.
