Senior Labour MP calls for £20bn a year in new wealth taxes
Labour MP Rachel Reeves, chair of the business select committee, has called for the imposition of an extra £20bn a year in wealth taxes to create a fairer society. Meanwhile, the Guardian’s Owen Jones says that Labour would need to raise wealth taxes on “the most affluent quarter of society” in order to enact its planned programme for government.
