HMRC target tax avoidance schemes

HMRC doubling resources for tax avoidanceHMRC director general of customer compliance Penny Ciniewicz has announced at a Treasury select committee evidence session that the organisation is increasing its efforts and resources into dealing with promoters and enablers of tax avoidance. Ms Ciniewicz stated: “We have more than 100 current investigations into promoters [and enablers] and we’re keeping a very close eye on the market for avoidance.”
