 SME growth optimism rises

According to a survey of more than 1,100 SMEs from Hitachi Capital, 42% are optimistic about growth over the next three months, a three-percentage point rise since the beginning of the year and its highest level in 12 months. Hitachi said that the proportion of SMEs that expect to shrink and struggle to survive has fallen by two points to 11%. However, Geoff Ho in the Sunday Express says SMEs are still too reliant on bank debt with access to equity finance in short supply.
