SME exports could double after sterling’s fall
A survey by the FSB suggests the number of small businesses exporting could double following the fall in the price of sterling. However, a “pervasive knowledge gap” remained with one in five small businesses saying that they would consider exporting but did not know where to go for support. Twenty one per cent of small firms already do business overseas and 21% are considering starting, but currency fluctuations are a key challenge, according to a separate survey by foreign exchange firm World First.
