Brussels to target Dublin’s tax deals Dominic Lawson warns in the Sunday Times that Ireland’s entire economic model is under threat from EU plans to remove the autonomy of individual member states to set their own tax rates. Lawson cites an FT report which found almost 25% of Ireland's GDP consists of royalties "funnelled" through Dublin. He adds that Leo Varadkar is well aware that solidarity with Brussels may pay off in its battle with the UK over Brexit but could also bring an end to Ireland’s economic miracle.
