New carbon floor!

Yesterday the Government introduced the new "carbon floor" - this is a mechanism designed to make sure that fossils fuels don"t get too cheap compared to their horrendously expensive "renewable" alternatives, reports accountants Northampton Harris & Co. Oh and this was no April Fool"s joke. Whilst businesses in the USA are enjoying cheap energy bills courtesy of the centuries of shale gas reserves they"ve found, UK businesses will be hamstrung with high energy prices for years to come as the Government dashes headlong towards "renewable" energy.

But is this pursuit of so called "green" energy really useful? In 2010 81% of the world"s energy came from fossil fuels. Even with the most optimistic forecasts for renewable energy, such as solar and wave power, that figure will only have fallen to 79% by 2035!
