Creative England initiative launched for SMEs

The Minister of State for Culture and the Digital Economy, Ed Vaizey, has announced the launch of Creative Nation, a new programme for creative and digital businesses in the UK. "Government is already helping to create the right environment for UK businesses to continue to grow, so I am delighted to launch the new Creative Nation programme bringing large organisations and smaller companies together," said Mr Vaizey. Writing in the Telegraph, Karen Blackett of Mediacom argues that collaboration with small and micro businesses is essential to larger firms’ success. She notes that a recent Accenture survey of 1,000 big companies in the G20 found that revenues generated by collaboration with start-ups and entrepreneurs on innovation currently represent as much as 9% of large companies" total revenues.
