Research by PwC into festive benefits has found that employees would overwhelmingly choose a small cash bonus over spending more time with their family over the holiday period.

PwC asked 2,400 UK adults what bonus they would value the most this Christmas. More than half chose £250 extra pay across all generations of workers (57%), with only one in ten people picking two extra days of annual leave, say Harris & Co accountants Northampton.
