 Family businesses booming

Research compiled by Oxford Economics for the Institute of Family Business has found sales in family-run businesses increased by 2% to £1.3trn in the UK last year. The number of people employed by such companies also rose by 6%, with family firms now employing more than 11.9m people and paying £125bn worth of taxes each year.
