HMRC must review penalty regime, says CIOT
The complex and punitive HMRC penalties’ regime needs to be fairer and more efficient for taxpayers, according to CIOT’s response to an ongoing HMRC review of penalties report Harris & Co chartered accountants Northampton.
Harris & Co say that they have seen HMRC apply more and more of the stringent penalties to businesses, even for the smallest errors.
