 SMEs vulnerable to cyber-attack

A new recent report showed that a lack of awareness about cyber-crime makes SMEs soft targets – 74% experienced a security breach in 2015, up from 60% a year before. Patrick Nuttall, head of the London Digital Security Centre, said more needs to be done to address cyber-risks. Separately, Mike Cherry, the new chairman at the Federation of Small Businesses, has warned police and crime commissioner candidates to make combating business crime a key focus ahead of elections in May after it was revealed that a third of firms think crime is increasing, yet a quarter of business owners don"t report crimes committed against their company. The FSB survey found that firms did not think reporting crimes would achieve anything.
