 Osborne urged to help mid-sized business

The CBI believes George Osborne should focus on helping medium-sized businesses in his final budget before the general election. Director-general John Cridland has suggested making the annual investment allowance (AIA) permanent from 2016 at £250,000, promoting the market for privately-placed debt and raising the threshold for companies that have to pay corporation tax in quarterly instalments from £1.5m to £5m. The CBI is also urging the government to extend R&D tax credits to include the manufacture of innovations and prototypes say Harris & Co accountants Northampton, the specialist small business accountants
