NQ Mobile, a leading provider of mobile internet services, has published its latest annual malware survey report Harris & Co accountants Northampton who specialise in providing innovative accountancy services to new start up businesses and small and medium sized owner managed businesses. Some of the highlights were:
 
• 95% of malware is targeted towards Android devices;
• 4% of malware is targeted towards Symbian;
• 32 million Android devices were infected in 2012;
• 25% of infected devices were in China;
• 28% of malware was designed to collect and abuse personal data;
• malware attacks doubled in 2012 compared to the previous year; and
• the three most common methods used to deliver malware are Smishing (SMS phishing), malicious URLs and App Repackaging.
