 Fewer Government-backed loans offered

Latest figures from the British Business Bank reveal a sharp fall in the number of Government-backed loans being taken out by small businesses. Just 482 Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) loans were offered in the last quarter of 2015, with businesses borrowing £56.2m through the scheme during the period. Both the number of loans offered and the overall value are the lowest quarterly figures since the scheme launched in 2009.
