Increased employment taxes could harm growth
Business in the UK are paying increasing amounts of employment taxes in contrast to a downward trend globally, according to new research. UK firms are paying an average of £5,460 a year for an employee earning £47,600, below the global average of £8,460, but employers fear the introduction of auto enrolment pension schemes and the national living wage could impact competitiveness and limit much-needed growth.
