HMRC have apologised for another error on their Business Tax Dashboard which is now not showing the correct liability position for tax months 9 and 10 for some PAYE schemes say Harris & Co accountants Northampton

As a result, some employers may notice that their Business Tax Dashboard is showing that they owe more tax for those months than they were expecting.

HMRC say that their system may have created a duplicate month 9 and 10 charge because employers have incorrectly included employee leaver details relating to the 2012-13 tax year or earlier on Full Payment Submissions (FPS) submitted this tax year and included live payment data in respect of the same employee on a subsequent FPS.

Employers and their agents are therefore reminded not to include previous year leaver details on forms FPS when they are submitted.

HMRC are identifying the affected cases and will aim to correct them by 10 February 2014 so employers and their agents do not need to take any action.

On 20 January 2014, HMRC reported that their Business Tax Dashboard was not showing the correct payment position for tax month 8 for some PAYE schemes because of an IT change made to HMRC"s systems.

More details are available from HMRC.
